Also recently I have established few startups which one of them is called HobnobHobnob is professional social network at airports.

After spending almost a decade in software development and being a passionate to use IT as an enabler for firms, I have decided to concentrate more on below niches which I believe there is significant gap in market. Alas the impact of it has made plenty of failures and I am trying to fill this gap by spending more time on doing research and development.

Maybe you went in for a push on a pull door, or a pull for a push door, either way, somehow you were bested by an inanimate object. Confusing doors may be everywhere, but we have some good news, they are not your fault! Don Norman started complaining about doors over 25 years ago. Doors shouldn't need instructions – the shape of them can guide you through just fine. So why do so many doors need instruction manuals right on the side of them? When most people complain about something,…
If you have ever worked with time series predictions, I am quite sure you are well aware of the strains and pains that come with them. Time series predictions are difficult and always require a very specialized data scientist to implement it. Prophet https://facebook.github.io/prophet/ is a procedure for forecasting time series data based on an additive model where non-linear trends are fit with yearly, weekly, and daily seasonality, plus holiday effects.…
As an engineer and experience architect, I'm madly keen on core values and culture. I strongly believe in this formula: Employee Engagement = Core Values + Company Culture There are tons of quotes and inspiring speeches about how valuable a good set of core values and appropriate company culture will be, I am not intending to repeat them or convey the same message, I am assuming you're already a believer too.…

Re-Thinking HR
It’s time to say good-bye to the Department of Human Resources. Well, not the useful tasks it performs. But the department per se must go. It’s not that I don’t like HR; it’s just that I believe it can be improved. You might think, you are engineer what can you know about HR? Well, you are right but I consider myself as Experience Architect and an Expert-Generalist (aka T-Shaped). The rival argument to the 10,000 hour rule is the expert-generalist approach. Orit Gadiesh, chairman of Bain & Co,…

I have heard multiple times that founders, HR or CEOs are saying: "Our core values is our DNA". Do not get me wrong, I am big believer of core values and it is a must for each company https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/employee-motivation-core-values-company-culture-chris-shayan/, but in my opinion core values alone cannot be your DNA. We know from biology that DNA contains the instructions an organism needs to develop, function, and reproduce.…
Thinking Better
Systematic thinking is a way of approaching problems that asks how various elements within a system — which could be an ecosystem, an organization, or something more dispersed such as a supply chain — influence one another. Rather than reacting to individual problems that arise, a systems thinker will ask about relationships to other activities within the system, look for patterns over time, and seek root causes.…
In my previous posts, I have shared blogs on mental models https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/thinking-better-chris-shayan/ (gentle warning, it is a pretty long article) that has helped my to think better and also shared an article on how to engineer and architect https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/experience-engineering-chris-shayan/ an experience for customers, users, and employees. However, before engineering a great experience, you will need to build a great internal team. In this blog post,…
Experience Engineering
“Scholars really have nothing to teach you. But from the soft touch of the eyelashes of a woman you will know all there is to know about happiness.” ― Omar Khayyam This is going to be one of the most weird posts perhaps I've ever written, it is like all over the places. I apologize for it but it is hard to write a simple article on how to build an experience for your company. I am journeying on various topics such as agile, patterns, mental models, systematic thinking, experience design, HR,…
